Retracing the Mekong
Through Six Chapters
The My Tho 3D Exhibition reimagines the region's story as an immersive walk-through journey — from the upper reaches of the Mekong River to the founding of My Tho's first urban settlement. Dioramas, projection landscapes and sculptural installations guide visitors through history, craft and the living rhythm of the river.

A Continuous
Walk-Flow Narrative
A single looping circulation path threads the exhibition together, allowing the story to unfold chapter by chapter — from river origins to settlement, craft and reflection — without ever doubling back.
Six Immersive
Story Zones
Each zone pairs a physical diorama with light, water and sound — turning historical narrative into a sensory, walk-through experience.

Craft, Light
& Natural Material
Woven rattan lighting, sculpted bamboo ceiling forms and reclaimed timber furniture carry a consistent material language throughout — grounding each digital installation in tactile, local craft.

A Mekong Moment
A tropical, plantation-style corner extends the exhibition into a lounge and coffee area — louvred shutters, ceiling fans and river-view backdrops create a relaxed pause point before or after the walk-through.

Layout &
Circulation
The leased floor area is organised around a single continuous circulation loop, linking ticketing, the six exhibition zones, the workshop corner and the exit sequence.

Counter Design
Options
Two material directions were studied for the workshop and coffee counter, both reinforcing the exhibition's natural, handcrafted character.
Stacked timber log-ends and glazed volumes create a warm, textural counter front within a light-filled, greenhouse-style setting.
Terracotta tile, dark timber joinery and vintage furnishings evoke the domestic character of a traditional southern delta home.
